Tuition Information
At CDT, we strive to make dance accessible and affordable to everyone. Our tuition rates are carefully crafted with this in mind.
2024 - 2025 Tuition Information
As the San Diego Unified School District has been changing their dates for school in recent years, we also have been changing the beginning and ending dates of our program and the timing of our payments. For a regular class, the cost for the year will be $600, as it has been for the past few dance years.
We now divide tuition into three payments of $200 each (for example) instead of $60 month-by-month. The first payment is due at enrollment, the second payment will be due on October 25, 2024 and the last payment will be due on February 12, 2025. Everyone who is dancing in the recital will need to pay the final tuition payment and they will be enrolled through May 31, 2025. The Recital will be on May 17, 2025. For those who cannot be in the recital, the final day of dance will be March 1, 2025.
We are happy to assist with a payment plan if these 3 set payments cause financial hardship. Email Becky Jonestrask at becky@cdt.dance to discuss what will work for you and the studio.
Please make note of the payment dates provided and do not rely solely on our billing invoices to remind you when payment is due - invoices and statements have sometimes gone astray.
2024 - 2025 Tuition FAQ:
What happens if we would like to drop our class?
We require 4 weeks advance notice. If you drop between payments, you can receive a credit or refund for dance classes that will be missed after 4 weeks. There will be no credits or refunds for classes missed at any time before the 4 weeks are up (after you’ve given notice). Your child is welcome to dance during the 4 weeks after giving notice.
How does it work if we join in between payments?
Your initial payment upon enrolling will be pro-rated.
Is there a registration fee?
At the time of enrollment, you will be required to pay an annual family registration fee of $25 per family. The only families whose Registration Fee will be waived are those that paid the Registration Fee when they enrolled in our most recent Summer Session.
Will you still have multi-class discounts?
We will continue to offer a 10% multi-class (within a family) discount on full tuition payments. This discount does not include summer camps. If you are enrolling your child in more than one of Mix 'n Match Classes, these are not included in our multi-class discount. Your Mix n' Match classes will count as 1 unit towards our discount if combined with other classes your family is enrolled in.
What if it is a hardship on my family to make three lump-sum payments?
At CDT, we strive to make dance accessible and affordable to everyone. Our tuition rates are carefully crafted with this in mind. We are happy to assist with a payment plan if these 3 set payments cause financial hardship. Email Becky Jonestrask at becky@cdt.dance to discuss what will work for you and the studio.
Do you do make-up classes?
We offer NO REFUNDS and NO MAKE-UP CLASSES (due to class size limits and continuity). For best all-around results, we encourage dancers to attend class regularly.
What if I am late with my payment?
If tuition or other payments are not received through one of our many payment options by 10 days after the due dates, a late fee of $10.00 will be assessed (this will be assessed every 4 weeks until balances are paid in full). This fee is non-negotiable.
How do I pay?
Tuition payments can be given directly to your instructor with a check or cash (no cards in person, sorry). Checks can be made payable to CDT. You can also drop off checks or mail them directly to the studio. Other payment methods available are setting up recurring payments through on-line banking, paying with PayPal or individual credit card through the Paypal link on our website, Zelle (858-270-1361) or Venmo (@creativedancetheatre under the "businesses" tab).
Please make note of the 2024/2025 Tuition Due dates provided above and do not rely solely on our billing invoices to remind you when payment is due - invoices and statements have sometimes gone astray.
